Listen to VibeRotation 21 by Alex Young

It feels like the sun is going down on a good summer day and a good ass night is about to ensue. This is the energy accompanied by great music provided by VibeRotation 21. Ready your ears for a steady flow of new heat from a handful of talented young artists. Unwind or rally to a smooth Chaka Khan sample from legendary producer Statik Selektah, classic west coast sounds from LA's own Dom Kennedy and RJ, a pair of refreshing tracks from Chris Brown, and more.

Continuing with the eclectic vibes that were masterfully put together in last week's "Chillin' Me Softly" playlist is the nineteenth installment of VibeRotation.  With many different genres intermingling with this rotation, there was a decided choice to  transition from the harder bass-hitting hip hop tracks to the more house and pop bass lines that are heard throughout this 17-track playlist.  While this iteration stays current with Tyga's new track and a Diplo remix to Rihanna's "B*tch Better Have My Money", it also travels back in time to feature songs/renditions from Mobb Deep, Frankie Beverly, Diana Ross, and Jamiroquai.  Enjoy VibeRotation 19 below and be sure to check out our SoundCloud for more tunes curated by yours truly.

This week's Vibe Rotation is simply intended to make you feel good, especially with this warm weather. For whichever mood you're in, at least 1 song on this playlist will fit it perfectly. It ranges from Wale, Ellie Goulding, Odesza, and everything in between. The playlist also features some brand new songs that you may not have heard yet, which is intended to be refreshing and exciting. Wishing you a great week, especially with finals coming up (college kids, hang in there).

VibeRotation 17 by Alex Hersh

Sorry for the delay folks. Hope VibeRotation 17 will set you up for the week despite it's tardiness. That being said, my goal with this set was to match some of the sentiment of spring, encompassing vibes from those clear sunny days to the cloudy yet serene rainy ones. There is something special about the seedlings of spring. A new energy is in the air as people shed their winter jackets, and are hungry for the summer sun. These songs, to me, best capture that spectrum, starting with some new releases and features from Yeezy, venturing on to some soulful Ratatat, and ending with a beautiful score to match the pep in everyone's step this time of year. Shout out to the outro instrumental of the playlist created by student-producer Jordan Williams of the George Washington University. A very talented musician and student of the arts, check out his Soundcloud for more of his melodious work.

VibeRotation 16 by JR Walker by Alex Young

VibeRotation 16 comes courtesy of InTheRough's friend, JR Walker. I met him last year thanks to College, and quickly learned his West Coast, Los Angeles roots combined with a past obsession with Pharrell and one ongoing with Kobe Bryant make JR a well researched and well experienced spawn of popular culture. For instance, he is a tastemaker of many sorts. VibeRotation 16 will simply satisfy his musical influence. Today he delivers a playlist that stretches from the East Coast to his home on the West, with songs new and old, melodious and kicking. An appropriate remix of Lana Del Ray's "Brooklyn Baby" provides a splendid surprise. Enjoy VibeRotation 16 below and listen to the series in full at InTheRough's SoundCloud.
