The crooner expands his collaborative efforts this time as he employs Atlanta artists Zuse in "On God". Atlanta influences present a hardened Post Malone mixed well with a trap beat where both rappers dole out their promises. Duo FKi, along with Malone and Rex Kudo are given production credits. The rapper's third album Dirty Sprite 2, sibling to his 2011 Dirty Sprite mixtape the streets so enjoyed, releases at midnight July 17. DS2 follows a recent body of work from Future that might be his best. "F*ck Up Some Commas" 15 weeks on Billboard's Hot 100 keeps Future Hendrix relevant, while his 56 Nights mixtape builds hype surrounding his sound-- something highlighted in his latest project as it boasts only one feature from none other than Drake. Jidenna featuring Kendrick Lamar - Classic Man (Music Video) /
Before this year's BET Awards I had not heard of Jidenna or his hit song "Classic Man". But its melodious hip-hop beat and catchy hook understandably has the song on radio waves across the nation. A Kendrick Lamar remix gave "Classic Man" a huge co-sign and legitimacy to Janelle Monáe's Wondaland label. While the tune definitely has a feel-good element at times it seems sinister for the fact a dapper man can carry a lot of influence. Now I should mention Jidenna's name means, "embracing the father" in his father's Igbo language native to Nigeria. A clean attitude, competitive spirit, and a fine tailored might just have you feeling really good about yourself; think about it, watch the music video below.
InTheRough - This Should Have Dropped on the 4th /
After the first song of this playlist, "Antidote" by Travi$ Scott, you will understand its energy. The mix was supposed to release on the 4th of July last weekend, but got stuck in limbo as InTheRough staffers debated on its name and content all day Saturday. Regardless, we wanted the mix to be fit for any great party, just as that day provided. Selections from the heavyweights like Meek Mill, Drake, and Future allow us to turn up, while newer songs allow us to sustain interest, specifically "I Got That" from D.C.'s rising producer Kelow. October's Very Own for Apple Music /
Apple Music has digested with music listeners for a little more than a week now. The streaming service gives users access to 30 million songs all in one place and an array of features like shows by Drake and Pharrell on Apple's internet radio station, Beats 1. Drake is an interesting part of Apple Music. Back in June it was reported that Apple offered Drake a $19 million deal to have him as part of the new service. Today, those efforts pay off because Drake released the music video to his song "Energy" exclusively on Apple Music. Then, OVO mates Majid Jordan dropped a Drake collaboration called "My Love" to Apple Music as well.
